Lotta Comments
One day I was bombarded with a comments about my cubicle chic post. I was wondering why all of a sudden, then I figured it out. My cubicle design made it onto ikeahacker.
To answer some questions that came up. The monitor stand was made with a JARPEN shelf and some CAPITA legs. To stick the wallpaper up, I just used poster strength double stick tape and strategically placed heavy duty magnets. I covered the magnets with the wallpaper so they blend in.
Some additions to my cube since my original post was another vase from ikea, a desk organizer that fits nicely under my monitor stand, and a little station for my coffee press.

It started at the races
Had a great Labor day weekend. Went to the Del Mar races for the first time. Hard to believe since I've in SD now for almost 5 years. It was pretty exciting. I only lost 2 of my races. But we were betting WPS so we didn't win the big bucks. The horse names were hilarious.
Had a BBQ at the house so I'm a little hung over this morning. I woke up early since I forgot to marinate the chicken the night before. Made pigs in a blanket, pasta salad, and some cupcakes. I had M test the grill around 11 to see if it was running properly. Good thing I did since it died on us. We thought we had a crisis in our hands. M went to walmart and had to buy a charcoal grill. 50 bucks!! I couldn't believe it. But it was our only option since he would of had to assemble a gas grill and we had no time for that. After figuring out how charcoal worked, our mini crisis was averted. The burgers and chicken turn out great. Both sides of our family showed up plus a few of Ms friends from work. Seemed like everyone had a good time.

Pretty little things—Cuisipro® Ice Cream Scoop & Stack

I need to get me one of these. Reminds me of Thrifty ice cream scoops or Rite Aid as some may know it. Brings me back to my childhood....what am I saying I still jump at the chance to get ice cream from Thrifty's. Chocolate Malted Crunch...yummy!

My family tree just got bigger
Had a lot of family visiting this weekend. My weekend started on wednesday at the Angels game and from there was Soak City, the movies, and lots of Mario Party on the Wii. Before heading back to SD on Sunday, I discovered that my uncle on my dads side is a family friend of my uncle from my moms side.
I grew up not knowing anyone from my dads side of the family. He passed away before I was born and we left the PI when I was 6. So I only know my moms side of the family. Shame that I was on my way out when I met my long lost uncle. And I was in total shock so I really didn't know what to do, say or how to act. Was I suppose to run to him and hug him? I kinda just stood by the door way. I told my sister about it so maybe she can do some digging and we'll find that other half of our family.

Sexy Coke

Robert Cavalli moved on to designing coke bottles
"I had a lot of fun creating three different "dresses" for the legendary silhouette of the Coca Cola Light Contour. They are seductive and feminine, in typical Cavalli style. They’re designed for the world of young people, which has always been a great inspiration to me,"- R. Cavalli.

Trip down memory lane
We celebrated Lolas 87th brithday yesterday. We ended up watching a home movie from 1988. Tons of people with really big hair, and acid wash jeans. Lola was so young and vibrant. She still had her salt and pepper hair. And I think her hair had the most height out of everyone. I got a little teary eyed watching Lolo dancing and having such a good time, hugging and kissing everyone when the new year broke. aww...memories.

On the Tube—America's Best Dance Crew

I enjoyed watching Boogie Bots, but they really are not in the same league as Fanny Pak, SoReal Cru, and Super Cr3w. I'm so glad American voters came to their senses and actually voted correctly last week. Now to pick top 2. SoReal Cru is inventive, creative and really clean, but I still see them as a college dance crew. I guess I'm saying top 2 should be Fanny Pak and Super Cr3w. With Jabbawockeez winning last year, I think Fanny Pak should win. We don't need another all boy, breaking group to win. Nothing against Super Cr3w, cuz I was rooting for them the whole season, but the innovation of the Fanny Pak choreographer (Matt) is totally new and exciting. Makes you want to know what else he got.
Enough with my ranting... so who are you voting for?

I Want to Hold Your Hand....

...or not. If you look closely, this ad, though clever is pretty disgusting. The first hand has a band aid on it and then there is the hairy one. Yikes.
While we were in NY we always had hand sanitizer or wipes close by. The other people on the subway must of thought we were a couple of germaphobes. The question isn't whose hand you're holding, its how many.
